WORLDVIEW EDUCATION OF FUTURE FOREIGN LITERATURE TEACHERS:
PROFESSIONAL OUTLOOK CHARACTERISTICS AND MATURITY

SUMMARY:

The article presents the results of theoretical-experimental research of the problem of worldview education of the graduates of philological specialties with the right to teach foreign literature. 978 Master-degree students majoring in Philology took part in the study aimed at examining their professional outlook level. The following criteria and indicators of professional outlook of a foreign literature teacher (in accordance with which the level of their manifestation can be estimated as follows: 1) optimal; 2) proper; 3) primary) have been distinguished: criteria: cognitive and methodological, evaluative, reflexive and critical, orientation and prognostic, integration and activity; indicators: scientific style of thinking, social maturity, pedagogical orientation, humanistic position, creativity. The research outcomes have shown that future foreign literature teachers’ professional outlook formation at the stage of training at higher educational establishments of different types is usually carried out spontaneously and cannot be characterized as a purposeful, specially organized and systematically controlled pedagogical process. The analysis of the contemporary state of future foreign literature teachers training shows that subject competences and value orientations acquired by them in the course of university education do not meet the requirements of time, which is explained by the lack of proper theoretical-conceptual, didactic-methodical and diagnostic support of the process of their professional outlook formation. Further research work is planned to cover the development of a conceptual model of future foreign literature teachers’ professional outlook formation.

SOCIOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF INNOVATIVE DEVELOPMENT
PERSPECTIVES OF HIGHER EDUCATION IN UKRAINE

SUMMARY:

The article deals with the issue of innovative development of higher education in Ukraine. The urgency of the considered problem is determined by significant increase in the role of information and knowledge in the life of the Ukrainian society. It is extremely important to develop practical tasks and a system of measures aimed at stimulating the innovative development of education with a view to enhancing the further development of the information society, and ultimately improving the quality and the standard of living of the country's population. The purpose of the article is to substantiate theoretical, methodological and practical principles for assessing the promise of innovative development of higher education in Ukraine. The objectives of the article were to identify current trends in the development of higher education, to formulate methodological principles and conduct an experimental study that would confirm or refute the hypothesis of the availability of promising latent trends of innovative development of higher education in Ukraine. In carrying out the research, expert methods, in particular the questionnaire method, were used. The purpose of the author's sociological survey was the applied grounding of the main trends in the development of higher education from the value-mental and innovative points of view. The conclusions from the conducted research allow us to speak about both the national tendencies of the national education development, and its specific characteristics in the regional section. Innovative development of education should first of all be implemented through the prism of such educational and qualification training of specialists, which would meet the potential needs of regional labor markets with a focus on the knowledge-intensive types of economic activity. Conclusions and considerations on the results of identifying the value characteristics of students make it possible to state that the innovative development of education in Ukraine should begin with the reforms of the cultural-spiritual and value-related nature.

ECOLOGICAL EDUCATION OF ECONOMICS STUDENTS
BY MEANS OF ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGIES

SUMMARY:

The article deals with a relevant issue of environmental education of economics students, which in the global context is considered as a key part of the process of optimizing environmental protection and achieving sustainable development of every country and the world as a whole, and in the pedagogical one, it is the basis for the ecological culture formation in a personality. The role of environmental technologies in the training of future specialists for environmental and economic activity has been revealed. Unfortunately, traditional teaching methods of natural sciences are weakly in line with modern requirements and need to be improved. The purpose of the research is to provide theoretical substantiation and experimental verification of scientific and methodological bases of application of environmental technology in economics students’ environmental education. Future economics experts’ environmental and economic competence involves motivational-value, informational-cognitive, operational-activity components. The respondents’ levels of environmental and economic competence were examined by means of a specially selected methodical toolkit. Experimental work was aimed at identifying the students’ attitudes towards the content and quality of their training in terms of environmental and economic activity and the degree of interest in such activities. Besides, the possibilities of using new environmental technologies in the training of economics students have been examined during the research.
