INFLUENCE OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY ON MENTAL CAPACITY OF PUPILS OF YEAR 5

SUMMARY:

The paper presents the results of the research on physical activity influence on mental capacity of schoolchildren of Year 5. With this aim, the children from three different classes of the fifth year were under observation: 5Е1 и 5Е2 classes were taught according to meritocratic system and 5P class was taught according to the traditional system. The analysis of schoolchildren’s mental capacity has made it possible to indentify some differences in its qualitative compo￾nent. Best results were demonstrated by the boys from 5Е2 class with meritocratic system of teaching. As for the quali￾tative component of mental capacity, better results were shown by the boys taught according to the traditional teaching system and the girls obtaining meritocratic education. Evaluation of the research results has made it possible to deter￾mine that the pupils of 5Е2 class master the curriculum better than the others: they do the tasks more efficiently com￾pared to the pupils from 5Е1 and 5P classes. At the same time, there was almost no difference between these two clas￾ses in terms of tasks performance. In this case, the pupils of 5Е2 class seem to demonstrate successful adaptation to the middle school. The analysis of schoolchildren’s physical activity has shown that the pupils from 5P and 5Е2 classes demonstrate the high level of physical activity during the week. At the same time, 5Е1 pupils have sufficient and low level of physical activity, which results in feeling ill at the end of school- and weekend days. Thus, it can be concluded that physical activity and educational process organization have significant influence on mental capacity of middle school pupils.

FORMING FUTURE TEACHER’S PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE AND CREATIVE POTENTIAL BY MEANS OF PEDAGOGICAL PRACTICE AT RECREATIONAL CAMPS FOR CHILDREN

SUMMARY:

The article deals with the aims, forms of organization, stages and tasks of summer pedagogical practice at recrea￾tional camps for children and its contribution to the formation of key components of future teachers’ professional com￾petence and creative potential. The meaning of collective creative activities as a factor developing creative skills of students-future pedagogues has been revealed in the paper. The preparatory, main and final stages of the educational work at a camp have been described as well. They help a pedagogue to plan his/her activity for a shift; they contribute to the formational of the creative approach to the educational activity considering age peculiarities of children, the level of their education and development, as well as their individual psychological characteristics. Besides, the following activities of a student having pedagogical practice at a recreational camp for children have been reviewed in the study: organization of team activity, competitions, concerts, which are carried out on the basis of amateur activities, initiative and creative ideas of a future pedagogue. Implementation of the course “Methods of educational work at a camp” as well as pedagogical practice into the educational process of higher educational institutions is extremely important for the formation of future teacher’s main competences.

FORMING VALEOLOGICAL THINKING FOR ENHANCING STUDENTS’ ADAPTIVE CAPACITY WHEN STUDYING AT HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

SUMMARY:

The article deals with the theoretical justification and development of methodological support for forming valeo￾logical thinking of students studying at higher educational institutions. As the result of scientific literature review and the experience in the sphere of education there have been distinguished a number of problems in the process of prepar￾ing pedagogical university students for valeological activities: irrational usage of curricula possibilities providing valeological integrated knowledge; the absence of the appropriate model of forming future teachers’ valeological think￾ing as a necessary component of studying at higher educational institutions. Basing on the theoretical analysis special methods aimed at the formation of students’ valeological thinking have been developed. Namely some changes in the curriculum of “Physical education” (as elective course) have been implemented; some tasks aimed at determining the level of students’ theoretical knowledge and practical skills of valeological activities as well as some valeological think￾ing tests have been developed. The dynamics of students’ valeological thinking maturity has been also studied. As the result of the research it has been revealed that the medium and high levels of valeological thinking, profound theoretical knowledge and developed practical skills of valeological activities contribute to the development of adaptive capacity of students. The further studies are aimed at the development of the model providing the formation of future teachers’ valeological thinking as a necessary component of their studying at higher educational institutions.

MOTOR ACTIONS MODELLING IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION

SUMMARY:

The study is aimed at increasing the role of students’ theoretical training when organizing their own motor actions at physical education classes. In such a way, practice is combined with theoretical knowledge; creative thinking is improved on the basis of the process of a certain motor image modeled by a student according to the goal set at the subconscious level; the effectiveness of the eventual results is provided due to rationality, capacity and heath-saving character of movements.

STUDYING THE PECULIARITIES OF PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT AND FUNCTIONAL STATE OF FEMALE ATHLETES ENGAGED IN SYNCHRONIZED SWIMMING FOR EDUCATIONAL PROCESS OPTIMIZATION

SUMMARY:

Modern sport is becoming younger, that is why it is necessary to study young athletes’ growing and developing peculiarities, as well as their adaptive capacity. The article is aimed at examining the characteristics of physical devel￾opment and functional state of female athletes engaged in synchronized swimming, which reflect the above mentioned indicators. The study involved 30 schoolgirls (the average age was12,00 ± 0,22 years), who were divided into two groups. The first group involved 15 female athletes engaged in synchronized swimming, with the 1st category skill level (Candidate Masters of Sports). The second group involved 15 schoolgirls. The following indices have been examined: anthropometric measures, hypoxic samples, indices of physical development. The research results have shown that most of the surveyed have the medium level of physical development. It should be noted that disharmony is gradually in￾creasing with ageing (among female athletes due to weight deficit, and among schoolgirls – due to overweight). It demonstrates the positive impact of synchronized swimming on human organism. The examination of physical devel￾opment makes it possible to predict the delayed puberty of female athletes. It has been also revealed that there is a lack of water in female athletes’ organisms. The functional state of female athletes’ respiratory system is better as well, which is explained by the increase of the muscles involved in breathing. Female athletes’ results of hypoxic testing were also better, which means higher resistance to hypoxia. It has been determined that physical loads leas to the de￾crease of adipose tissue due to the decrease of the amount of water in a body. This fact is considered to be negative because it may lead to sexual maturation disorders. Though female athletes are characterized by the higher adaptive capacity of the respiratory system compared to schoolgirls from the second group.
