OBJECT AND SUBJECT OF AXIOPSYCHOLOGY OF PERSONALITY: SOURCES AND PREREQUISITES FOR THE EMERGENCE

SUMMARY:

The goal of the interdisciplinary search is to argue for four basic groups of sources-foundations of the emergence in the quarter-century-old intellectual discourse of Ukraine the axiological personality psychology, which is analyzed on the basis of a five-module set of lenses-modules of post-non-classically oriented methodological optics, and the main task ‒ to present the author's interpretation of the goal, object and subject of this latest philosophical and psychological direction of the evolution of psychosophical knowledge. The object of the study is a human chosen as a person in his ontogenetic environment ‒ in the formation of the axiopsychic as a distinctive, value-intentioned and meaningfully enriched sphere of axio-essentiality, spheres of here-being and situationally fluid existence throughout the life path of an individual. The subject of research is a value-meaning sphere that contains a complex developmental picture of axiogenesis, constitutes a separate unique world of axiopsychic and essentially characterizes its level of conscious maturity. As a result of the reflexive analysis: a) proven heuristics of creating a metatheory of individual in the near future, which would not only integrate the latest multi-subject achievements (theories, concepts, approaches, concepts-images, etc.) in the field of personology, but also produce a number of full-fledged paradigmatic-research maps of cognition/creation as the main supertask of a human; b) four groups of the sources-foundations of axiopsychology as the primary author's megaproject of the Ukrainian researcher Z.S. Karpenko have been defined: cultural-historical origins, psychodynamic foundations, phenomenological-conscious beginnings and action-reflexive basis; c) innovatively completed and at the same time detailed according to the principle of logical and meaningful complementarity of the goal, object and subject field of axiological psychology, which are methodologically verified canonical parameters of this synthetic discipline as a postmodern oriented field of rational-humanitarian knowledge; d) the basic provisions of the author's concept of understanding and knowledge of the value-meaning sphere of the personal world of an effective worker in the socionomic field are outlined.

PSYCHOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF MEDIA DEPENDENCE IN MODERN STUDENT YOUTH

SUMMARY:

Media addiction and its psychological aspects are particularly relevant nowadays, as media have become an integral part of the life of modern youth. In recent years, the number of young people facing media addiction problems has been increasing, and this, in turn, has a negative impact on their physical and mental health. By diving into the virtual world, young people forget who they are. The most common trend is that young people are becoming increasingly powerful media consumers. The purpose of the study is to identify the psychological features of the manifestation of media addiction among modern student youth. A quantitative method in the form of questionnaires and testing was used to study the psychological aspects of media addiction among student youth. A study using Kimberly Young's methodology was also conducted with the survey sample. This technique is aimed at determining media addiction and is a tool for self-diagnosis of a pathological form of media addiction. The influence of the media on the well-being and physical health of student youth was empirically determined. It was also established that respondents feel psychological discomfort without access to media, which proves the importance of media for student youth. Based on the results of the research, recommendations were developed for social pedagogues and psychologists of educational institutions, which should be applied in the process of interaction with media-dependent youth. Among them, we highlight – diagnosis of media addiction using special tests and methods; implementation of preventive and therapeutic work with media-dependent youth; creation of educational programs with the involvement of an interdisciplinary team of specialists; implementation of social and psychological rehabilitation of media-dependent youth by combining various forms and methods.

THE MEDIATING ROLE OF PSYCHOLOGICAL CAPITAL IN THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN STUDY DEMANDS AND EMOTIONAL BURNOUT AMONG STUDENTS

SUMMARY:

This article examines the mediating role of psychological capital in the relationship between academic environment demands and emotional burnout among higher education students. Modern challenges require students to adapt to changes and utilize their resources to achieve long-term goals. However, emotional burnout poses a significant obstacle to academic success and the development of professional identity. The study involved 213 students aged 17 to 47, with 84.5% being female. The study aimed to determine whether psychological capital mediates the relationship between educational environment demands and emotional burnout. Methods: Psychological capital was assessed using the Ukrainian version of the PCQ- 12, which measures self-efficacy, hope, optimism, and resilience. Study demands and resources were evaluated using the Study Demands and Resources Questionnaire, which consists of 18 items rated on a 5-point scale to assess respondents' agreement levels. Emotional burnout was diagnosed using the Ukrainian version of the Maslach Burnout Inventory for Students (MBI-SS), which includes 15 items rated on a 7-point scale. All questionnaires demonstrated sufficient reliability, with Cronbach's alpha exceeding 0.7 for PCQ-12, above 0.6 for the environmental demands questionnaire, and over 0.8 for MBI-SS. Results: The study found that high demands on students significantly increase burnout levels, while psychological capital serves as a buffer, partially mediating this effect. Statistical analysis showed that psychological capital explains two-thirds of the variance in the relationship between academic environment demands and emotional burnout, confirming its mediating role. The findings offer new opportunities for developing interventions aimed at enhancing self-efficacy, resilience, optimism, and hope among students to reduce the risk of burnout. However, the study has limitations related to its cross-sectional design and the use of self-assessment methods, which may affect the accuracy of the results.

RESULTS OF A LONGITUDINAL STUDY OF ADAPTIVE CAPACITIES OF AN INDIVIDUAL TO LIFE IN ANTARCTIC CONDITIONS

SUMMARY:

The article deals with the issues of human adaptive capabilities in extreme living conditions at the Ukrainian Antarctic station “Akademik Vernadsky”. The relevance of this article is based on the fact that at present, in the context of a full-scale war, the majority of the population of Ukraine is experiencing permanent stress, and, therefore, are also in extreme living conditions. Knowledge about the peculiarities of human adaptation to extreme conditions is more relevant today than ever. The purpose of the article is to demonstrate the results of a longitudinal study on the adaptation of Ukrainian winterers in the Antarctic. The objectives of the article are to determine the place of adaptation in the structure of psychological readiness for life at the Antarctic polar station and to present the results of a study of adaptive capabilities of winterers of different age groups on the example of 10 expeditions to the Ukrainian Antarctic station “Akademik Vernadsky”. To study the adaptive capacities of Ukrainian winterers to life in the Antarctic, methods were used to determine the well-being, activity, mood of the individual; the level of anxiety; the neuropsychological stress and stability of the winterer; as well as to study the degree of “emotional burnout” in the process of adaptation. To study the adaptive capacities of Ukrainian winterers, we used methods to determine the state of health, activity, mood of the individual; the level of anxiety; neuropsychological stress and resilience of the winterer and a method to study the degree of “emotional burnout” in the process of adaptation. The study proved that there are certain differences in the course of adaptation processes in representatives of different age groups of winterers. The indicators of adaptive capacities are the best in the representatives of the older (46-64 years old) and middle (35-45 years old) age groups.

MANIFESTATION OF EMOTIONAL AND PERSONAL TRAITS OF ALCOHOL DEPENDENT INDIVIDUALS

SUMMARY:

The relevance of studying the problem of chemical dependency lies in the search for ways to overcome its negative impact. The presented research is aimed at examining the emotional sphere of alcohol-dependent individuals, particularly their emotional maturity, emotional intelligence, and various personality traits. The goal of the study was to identify the emotional characteristics of dependent individuals that could serve as the basis for psychological correction. A comprehensive methodology was employed, allowing for an assessment of various emotional properties. As a result of the study, three groups of individuals with varying levels of dependency were identified. Statistically significant differences between these groups were found in terms of emotional expressiveness, the ability to identify emotions, emotional regulation, and the level of aggressiveness. These findings confirmed the possibility of differentiating individuals based on the manifestation of emotional characteristics, taking into account the level of dependency. Further analysis, based on the study of correlations and factor analysis, established that emotional maturity and the ability to regulate emotions are key factors in differentiating levels of dependency. Such data suggest that these characteristics can be used to build effective systems of psychological rehabilitation for chemically dependent individuals. In conclusion, the use of these data is a crucial condition for developing an adequate system of psychotherapeutic correction and rehabilitation for individuals with alcohol dependence.
