NATIONAL AND PATRIOTIC EDUCATION OF STUDENT YOUTH BY MEANS OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES IN THE CONDITIONS OF DISTANCE EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT


SUMMARY:

The national and patriotic education today is a powerful means of strengthening the unity and integrity of Ukraine. Today, more than ever, we need new approaches and new ways to cultivate patriotism as a feeling and as a basic trait of personality. In our opinion, one of such ways may be the use of digital technologies in the implementation of national and patriotic education of student youth, because this is one of the most important and sustainable trends in the educational process. The purpose is to study the possibilities of digital technologies as a means of forming a national and patriotic education of youth in a distance learning environment of higher education. Research methods are: theoretical, namely analysis of psychological and pedagogical sources on the research issues, generalization and systematization of data on the formation of national and patriotic education of youth in a distance learning environment; and empirical, namely questionnaires. The research sample was consisted of students of the 3-4 years of study of full-time education (70 people) of the Faculty of Primary Education and the Faculty of Social and Psychological Education of Uman State Pedagogical University named after Pavlo Tychyna. The study showed that student youth takes an active public position, i.e. speaks Ukrainian, wants to live and work in Ukraine, respects his/her homeland, its traditions, cultural and historical past, loves to travel; he/she is tolerant of people with special needs. Various forms of educational work of national and patriotic orientation at Uman State Pedagogical University named after PavloTychyna conducted by means of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) were analyzed; online thematic lectures, educational classes, round tables, master classes, guest online meetings with famous researchers of Ukrainian historical heritage, online excursions-trips to historical places, virtual exhibitions of artistic creativity, participation in the national and patriotic student camp "Action", etc. proved the effectiveness of digital technologies as a means of forming national and patriotic education of youth.
