PSYCHOLOGY OF FUTURE SOCIAL WORKERS’ SOCIAL ACTIVITY FORMATION

SUMMARY:

The article deals with psychological problems of organization and development of social activity of future social workers. The article covers the results of the carried out empirical research, performed in a longitude form, aimed to determine the dynamics of the formation and development of social activity of university students majoring in “Social Work”. The study involved 95 students of the Faculty of Psychology of Kyiv National University. The following research methods were used: Level of Social Activity Scale; Ecological Awareness and Ecological Culture Scale; drawing test “Socially Active Society”, as well as a method of observation of the respondents’ social activity. It has been proved that the disciplines providing not just learning theory but teaching how to apply the acquired knowledge and skills in practice, creating and introducing one’s own social projects promote the development of social activity as a basic competence of a social worker. As a result, statistically significant indicators of social activity of students’ development have been discovered from the first to the fourth year of studying at a university. A significant gap has been found between the level of knowledge in the field of social activity and the level of activity aimed at supporting and developing the society. The students who mastered the suggested program, which involves the independent development of social projects and their implementation, demonstrated not only high level of awareness in the field of social work, but also a high level of social activity being the basic competence of a social worker.

INNOVATIVE QUALITIES MANIFESTATION IN TERMS OF
ADVERTISING REPRESENTATIVES’ INTERPERSONAL INTERACTION

SUMMARY:

One of the important conditions for the success of advertising representatives is individual psychological features that promote interpersonal interaction in the process of innovation. The paper aims to examine the features of innovative qualities of advertising representatives and determine their role in interpersonal interaction. Innovation is considered as the activity aimed at creating new original products. Its success depends on the creativity of the individual. At the same time, innovation is realized at the cognitive and behavioral levels. Interpersonal interaction is regarded as the appropriate contact, due to the spatial-temporal closeness of the subjects. According to the results of the empirical study it has been found that such innovative qualities as creativity, risk for success, orientation to the future, etc. are mature in the respondents. And the most mature quality in them is creativity. The majority of successful advertising representatives often use the same types of interpersonal interaction as authoritarian, selfish, and benevolent. The correlation analysis has shown the existence of direct correlation relationships between the authoritarian type of interpersonal interaction and risk for success, as well as the innovation index. A direct correlation relationship has been also found between the benevolent type of interaction and creativity and the orientation towards the future. A correlation relationship between the selfish type of interaction and the orientation towards the future and the general index of innovation has been also found. Besides, there is inverse correlation between the subordinate type of interaction and creativity and risk for success, as well as between a dependent type of interaction and risk for success and a general innovation index. Other types of interpersonal interaction do not have statistically significant correlation relationships with the innovative qualities of the respondents. The obtained results give grounds to state that the innovative qualities of advertising representatives are connected with the types of interpersonal interaction.

TRAIT PROFILE OF SUSPECTS (INVOLVED AND NOT INVOLVED
IN COMMITTING A CRIME) PASSING POLYGRAPH TESTING

SUMMARY:

The article analyzes the expediency and importance of constructing trait profiles of individuals during a polygraph examination and ascertaining their involvement in the commission of a crime. Since the lie detection screening concerning the involvement of individuals cannot always provide a definite and reliable conclusion, there is a need to build trait profiles of the individuals involved and not involved in committing a crime. A thorough analysis of dominant personality characteristics, the combination of reactions obtained through polygraph examinations and fixed nonverbal manifestations of a person during the polygraph examination make it possible to conclude that the suspect is involved or not involved in the commission of a crime. Only in this case the analysis of suspect’s profile can make the most accurate and true conclusion. The results of the conducted research prove that the persons involved in committing crimes have the highest indices according to the reactive aggression scale. The suspects who are not involved in committing crimes, in contrast to those involved, have high indices on the irritability scale, which indicates the presence of emotional instability and the tendency to an affective response to avoid tension. High indices according to the emotional lability scale were revealed in both groups, but somewhat predominated among those involved in crimes. It is worth noting that the persons involved in committing crimes, in contrast to those uninvolved, are more constrained, unsure of themselves, rarely show caution in making contacts with others. In the persons not involved in the commission of crimes, breathing disturbances, gastric distress and sleep disturbances can be observed. They have difficulty concentrating, are anxious, which is accompanied by various emotional reactions – shame, anger, guilt, fear.

PSYCHO-CORRECTION OF MOTIVATION FOR LEARNING ACHIEVEMENTS
AMONG SCHOOLCHILDREN WITH COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT DISORDERS

SUMMARY:

The paper aims to highlight the results of the research into the development of qualitative motivational processes determining the performance of cognitive activity, which contributes to raising the level of realizing the child’s possibilities when solving the assigned tasks. The experimental program for developing the achievement motivation in schoolchildren included adaptation/modification of such methods as “Communicative Attack”, “Discussion”, “Creating a Problem Situation”, and “Creating a Situation of Success” (H. Eysenck, D. McClelland, D. Elkonin, V. Davydov, Y. Tamberg, K. Popper). Quantitative and qualitative analysis of the results allowed to make a conclusion that the designed psycho-corrective program for creating the motivation of academic achievements has fostered qualitative changes in the development of all the components in self-regulation of students with cognitive development disorders.

FEMALE SMOKER’S TRAIT PROFILE

SUMMARY:

Today there is a tendency for a large number of tobacco-addicted young girls and women helping them to escape from problems. The addictive reality generates a state of emotional comfort and short-term oblivion. The psychological reasons for the sharp increase in this addiction among girls are the lack of adaptive mechanisms, the instability of the emotional-volitional sphere, and the perception of tobacco as an effective anti-stress means. Based on the results of an empirical study, it has been found that female smokers are primarily introverted individuals, focused on personal experiences, their own interests, inclined to self-examination. They are characterized by low levels of adaptation and sociability. The level of neuroticism in girls-smokers is high, they are insecure and characterized by frequent mood changes, irritability and a sharp reaction to criticism. Such girls do not accept monotony, it is difficult for them to adhere to traditional behavior standards, so they try to break rules. As for their values, material well-being and diligence are most important for them. Creativity and happiness of others, as well as nobility and rationalism are least significant for them. Among female smokers, individuals with high rates of hypotension and hysteria prevail.
