SEARCHING FOR INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES
IN EXPERIENCING PSYCHOLOGICAL BARRIERS

SUMMARY:

The paper aims to present the results of the study of the individual-psychological specificity of experiencing stage barriers by performers who differ in emotional disposition. The stage barrier in the paper is understood as negatively colored intellectual, somatic, emotional and behavioral reactions and experiences that manifest themselves in inhibition, stupor, restriction of choice and in the occurrence of such subjectively insurmountable obstacles that block the stage activity, impede success and can be overcome only in the process of certain kind of psychological work. Emotionality was chosen as a psychological factor that influences the structure of the stage barrier and the specifics of its manifestations. The study of a stable proneness to stage barriers was carried out with the help of the author’s psychometric technique “Differential Diagnostics of the Propensity for Stage Barriers”, in addition, the “Four Modalities Questionnaire of Emotionality” was used. The significant differences were found with the help of Student’s t-test between the group of individuals with the domination of positive emotions of the “joy” pattern, on the one hand, and the rest of the groups with negative emotions domination – “anger”, “fear”, and “sadness”. At the same time, the manifestations of stage barriers in the three groups of individuals with the dominance of negative emotions are considered to be very similar. Therefore, emotionality also affects the specificity of stage barriers. It can be assumed that the features of the emotions that accompany stage barriers, expression, behavior, the peculiarities of their control and regulation, the choice of ways of behavior aimed at inhibiting stage barriers (and perhaps their aggravation) also are different in persons with different emotional dispositions.

ENVY AND PERFECTIONISM: THE INTERRELATIONSHIP OF THE CONCEPTS

SUMMARY:

The article deals with the results of theoretical and empirical research of the features of perfectionism manifested by individuals prone to envy in different degrees. Envy is considered to be stable individual property caused by frequent comparing oneself with others not in personal favor, characterized by subjective feelings of decreasing self-worth and displayed in passionate desire to get what the object of comparison has. Perfectionism as a desire to be perfect and impeccable is analyzed as well. The special complex of methods to define the ratio between proneness to envy and perfectionism included the technique “Differential diagnosis of personality tendency to envy” by O. Sannikova, A. Lisovenko and P. Hewitt and R. Flett’s “Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale”. The significant positive correlations between the indicators of envy and perfectionism have been detected. It has been theoretically substantiated and empirically confirmed that envious personalities are prone to socially oriented and prescribed perfectionism.

PSYCHOLOGY OF TOLERANT ENVIRONMENT FORMATION
IN TERMS OF THE CONCEPT “THE NEW UKRAINIAN SCHOOL”

SUMMARY:

The article deals with the issue of tolerant educational environment formation which is quite relevant in modern psychology. Today the unity of the society is possible on the grounds of tolerance, which involves the principles of peace, mercy, and mutual understanding. Thus, the development of a tolerant personality should be one of the aims of the educational process in the educational institutions of all types. The paper aims to reveal psycho-pedagogical and training means of creating tolerant educational environment, to determine the main ways of its formation in terms of the concept “The new Ukrainian school”. Tolerance of the personality is considered as kind and permissive attitude towards people and events which does not violate human rights and does no harm to the surrounding environment. It involves the following components: cognitive (knowledge about objects and life situations which are the results of the individual experience); emotional (emotional states that precede the emergence of the behavioral component contributing to the systematization of knowledge and the emergence of a certain behavioral pattern); behavioral (leads to actualization of attitudes, value orientations and ethnic values). Basing on the scientific literature review and the survey of the students a special program for the development of tolerance has been developed. It is focused on the creation of the tolerant environment, partnership interaction between the educational process participants, motivation for creative self-fulfillment, kind attitude towards other people; the development of positive thinking, necessary abilities and skills in the educational environment. The program consists of the following exercises: “Tolerance and personal development”, “Against conflicts, violence and discrimination”, “Against aggression, envy”, “Volition affords and achieving a goal”, “Way to success”, “The rules of tolerant communication”, “We are the personalities”, etc.
