ENGINEERING GRAPHICS AS A TOOL FOR INTEGRATING GENERAL AND PROFESSIONAL TRAINING OF CADETS
SUMMARY:
The article examines the problem of insufficient integration of engineering graphics with the content of general and professional training disciplines for cadets in higher military educational institutions. The relevance of the study is determined by the growing requirements for the level of graphic and general engineering training of future military specialists in the context of modern technical and technological changes and the need to form professional competencies. It is substantiated that fragmented acquisition of graphic knowledge in the absence of systematic interdisciplinary links complicates the development of spatial thinking, graphic culture, and cadets’ ability to effectively operate engineering information. The purpose of the article is to determine the role of engineering graphics in ensuring the holistic professional training of cadets and to analyze the possibilities of its integration with basic and professionally oriented disciplines. The methodological framework of the study includes the analysis and generalization of scientific and pedagogical sources, a survey of cadets, as well as a comparative analysis of learning outcomes. The study found that practice-oriented tasks in engineering graphics contribute to the development of spatial thinking, the formation of skills for interpreting the shape and structure of technical objects based on drawings, and improve the level of mastery of professionally oriented disciplines. The research results confirm that aligning the content, objectives, and practical tasks of engineering graphics with the educational objectives of specialized disciplines has a positive effect on the development of skills in reading and creating design documentation. The feasibility of implementing an integrated engineering graphics course focused on the professional needs of military engineers is substantiated, which has practical significance for improving the educational process in higher military educational institutions.
