PECULIARITIES OF PSYCHODIAGNOSTICS AND PSYCHOTHERAPY OF DEVIATIONS IN MENTAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE INDIVIDUAL

SUMMARY:

Mental disorders are very common, often destructive, and have a negative impact on the lives of millions of people around the world. Psychodiagnostics is an important method for determining possible deviations in the mental development of a person. Psychodiagnostics is aimed at studying the harmonious mental development of a person. It includes a comprehensive approach to the study of behavioral, cognitive and emotional manifestations. Timely diagnostics helps to identify the peculiarities of mental development, which allows to develop individual correction programs. Diagnostics of mental development is based on the use of both objective performance indicators (tests) and subjective data. Professional observation, interviews, questionnaires, and various types of tests are used for analysis. The assessment process involves determining the presence or absence of certain psychological qualities, emotional reactions or behavioral manifestations and their compliance with established standards. Psychological testing, in particular, uses questionnaires, projective techniques, and tests that involve performing specific tasks. Behavioral deviations are mostly caused by conflicts of interest and value systems, distortions in the mechanisms of their implementation, shortcomings in the upbringing process, life failures, and emotional dysfunctions. Personality antisociality usually occurs as a reaction to difficult and almost insoluble life situations, i.e., it is caused by disorders at one of the levels of the internal regulation system: cognitive, emotional, volitional, or behavioral. Therefore, when working with people with such disorders, psychologists need to pay special attention to psychological assistance, clearly understand the type of disorder and identify effective methods of psychotherapy that will contribute to the normal psychological development of the individual.
