TEACHER’S PERSONALITY AS EXCEPTIONAL NDIVIDUALITY:
SOCIAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL CONTEXT

SUMMARY:
The pedagogical consciousness of the citizens involved in the education system changed dramatically in 2013 with the events of the Maidan and has continued to this day when the bloody war in Ukraine continues. The pedagogical community changed its view of the teacher’s role in the education system; the content of education; the organization and management of the educational process; personal development, formation, becoming, improvement, etc. At the same time, there was a realization of the importance of common spiritual values, the promotion of which should be prioritized in the educational process of any educational institution, since participants rely on them in creating social reality. It is no wonder that the concept of the New Ukrainian School (NUS) introduced a new content of education based on the formation of key competencies needed by individuals for successful self-realization in society, an essential component of which is partnership in general and academic partnership in particular. Representatives of more than 50 countries related to the education system took prioritized shared values as a basis for partnership. Among them are: love, kindness, wisdom, justice, forgiveness, faith, critical and creative thinking, cooperation, gratitude, appreciation of beauty, humor, etc. Against the backdrop of the transformation processes occurring in the world, the teacher is the conductor of these and many other values. Modern teachers’ role is exceptional because their personal position serves as an example in the manifestation of value orientations, the organization of interpersonal relationships and interpersonal interaction in the educational process, adaptation to extremely difficult living conditions, and social perception, which allows for an adequate understanding of other people, events, processes, etc. Thus, under the influence of the social environment and their own self-construction, the social-psychological awareness of the modern teacher is evident. It is a multidimensional ability of the teacher’s personality as exceptional individuality which manifests self-awareness in the form of self-knowledge, self-esteem, self-control, self-analysis, self-observation, sense of self, self-regulation, self-awareness and is characterized by a specific sense, joined-up thinking, subtle understanding, creative imagination, clear insight, and practical wisdom.
