WORK POLLUTION IN HEALTH CARE AND
EDUCATION SECTOR FROM SPAIN AND POLAND

SUMMARY:

The purpose of this confirmatory study was to investigate work environment in order to verify the model of individual and organizational antecedents of mobbing in two corresponding samples from Spain and Poland. 3 scales were applied: Negative Acts Questionnaire Revised (NEQ-Re), Overall Personality Assessment Scale (OPERAS), Work Psychosocial Climate Scale (ECPT). Results mainly supported the organizational climate as a source of mobbing. Decreased emotional stability, conscientiousness, and agreeableness were found among characteristics of victims. Polish version of the ECPT (back translation) was introduced as a reliable and valid measure. Questionable reliability was obtained for 4 out of 5 factors of the OPERAS - Polish version (back translation). Further implications of the results are discussed.

PREDICTIVE COMPETENCE OF POLICE OFFICERS IN
TERMS OF THEIR READINESS FOR INNOVATION ACTIVITY

SUMMARY:

An important feature of the modern development of our state is its focus on the introduction of various types of innovations in all spheres of public life. In this context, the increase of innovation activity in the training of future policemen, in particular the possibility of the formation and development of their innovative potential, is of particular importance. One of the important components of the probable success of readiness for change is a mechanism based on the predictive competence of future police officers. The purpose of the study is to examine the peculiarities of the functioning of cadets’ predictive competence in the context of their readiness for innovations. Psychological Readiness for Innovation Activity Inventory (by V. Klochko, O. Krasnondatseva) and Anticipatory Ability Test (predictive competence) by V. Mendelevych were applied. The study involved 104 cadets of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. The results of the study indicate differences in the manifestations of predictive competence in cadets with different levels of readiness for innovations. At the same time, it has been empirically proven that anticipatory ability acts as a kind of psychological resource – a moderator whose mechanisms of functioning mediate (facilitate or inhibit) the readiness for innovation in future police officers. The obtained results prove the need for the development and implementation of recommendations for the formation of predictive competence in cadets on the basis of the development of their ability for accurate and correct understanding of intentions of others, prediction of their actions, planning and forecasting their own activities and development of the ability to put forward alternative versions of scenario.

GENDER BASED DIFFERENCES IN STUDENTS’ IDEAS
OF FAMILY LIFE FROM FULL AND DIVORCED FAMILIES

SUMMARY:

Modern socio-economic situation in Ukraine is in the process of dynamic changes, that has a significant impact on all spheres of citizens’ lives. Social circumstances complicate Ukrainian family life, lead to the formation of new notions and values. In recent years, the amount of divorces has increased and the birth rate has decreased. Young people of marriageable age do not will to create families. The mentioned problems are relevant and need practical solution. The paper aims to study gender based differences in young people’s views concerning family life depending on the type of their families (full or divorced). On the basis of theoretical and empirical methods of research, there was identified the adverse influence of parents’ divorce on their child’s personality as a future family man. The study involved 50 respondents of both genders from full and divorced families (25 subjects each). The majority of the respondents, whose parents have divorced, as compared to those who are brought up by both parents, have immature ideas and guidelines of family life. It is worth mentioning that predominantly young people from divorced families have light-minded attitude to marriage. The boys have too high expectations about their future wives, insist on the necessity of autonomy in marriage, have light-minded attitude to the formation of family budget, have immature vision of future parenthood. The girls from divorced families, as compared to the boys, have more flexible ideas of family role structure. They are focused on responsibility, shared activity of the married couple and have more conscious attitude to the parenthood. Therefore, young people brought up in divorced families need the correction of their marriage-family vision and especially it concerns young men.
